The Sabbagh & Associé Scholarship

Since 2026, Sabbagh & Associé has been committed to providing financial support to doctoral students in law at the University of Ottawa through an annual scholarship of $5,000. The Sabbagh & Associé Scholarship provides financial support to students enrolled in a doctoral program in law whose dissertation focuses on a specific topic in private law.

The founding partners of Sabbagh & Associé, Yasmina Boukossa, Esq., and Paul Sabbagh, Esq., both began their legal careers before completing their doctorates in law. As such, our firm is committed to helping new doctoral students establish themselves and carve out a place for themselves in the practice of private law.

Purpose of the fund

To support doctoral students in law whose dissertations focus on a specific area of private law.

Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person or refugee, or be an international student.
• be enrolled full-time or part-time in a doctoral program at the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa.
• demonstrate that their thesis addresses a specific topic within the field of private law.
